  • A Little bit of kindness.

Maisie and I had a lovely visit to Harden Primary School this week.

We had been invited to their Friday assembly to give certificates and bookmarks to the children who read to Maisie last term.

All the pupils received great praise from the head teacher for their friendliness, politeness and helpfulness which is very well deserved and exactly what we find every time we visit.

The theme of the assembly was helping others who then might help you.

    Assembly finished with this song:

A little bit of kindness in your day

Will bring a lot of happiness your way

It doesn't take a lot to stop and say

    "Can I help you?"

The two friends who helped Maisie will know the following story which I promised the children I would put on our website!

Maisie loves to visit Harden Primary School every Tuesday. She gives her time to help the children by listening to them reading.

Because of this she has made hundreds of new friends there.

When two of these new friends came to visit her during the Easter holiday, I had to tell them she was feeling very sad because she had lost her favourite ball. She has lots of other balls but she only wanted to play with the one that was lost.

So her two friends decided to help Maisie by searching the whole garden. They eventually found the favourite orange ball really deep in the undergrowth. It took a few minutes for them to work out how to get it but they found a long pole and between them got it out.

The friends were muddy, but Maisie was absolutely delighted and hasn't stopped playing with her ball yet!!

    Thank you for your kindness.
