This week's high-light definitely the RIBI weekend conference in Birmingham, starting with a fabulous concert to mark 100 years of Rotary in the UK. We have come back brimming with enthusiasm and good ideas to take back to our club council. Also fantastic net-working to help us along with our projects such as the Aire Valley Canoe Challenge and support for Aquabox. We should be able to get hold of a box so we can demonstrate how you drink clean water from the river or canal. Good ideas, too, for our Rotakids who have been raising money for the Philippines.

Whilst there, we conducted a Facebook/Twitter experiment to keep friends at home in touch with events throughout the week-end - see Facebook. I am delighted at the first responses to this, proving more members than I thought are actually using the Social Media. We can work on this over the coming months.

One presentation which struck home was a couple who have made a substantial gift to our Rotary Foundation in their wills. Something I must think about - a smaller one, that is. What a great legacy to leave behind.

Richard G and I attended Skipton Craven's Charter Dinner at Skipton Golf Club along with Arthur Smith from Shipley Club.
