    On Friday 13th February 2015 Rotary Club of Bradford West Rotarians Vic Cornwell, Ken Thompson and Robert Morphet (Club President 2014 -15) were up and about early for a 9am assembly at Feversham Primary Academy in the Bradford 3 area.

    The occasion was a significant one, not just for Bradford West but for Feversham Primary Academy. It was the formal presentation of the Schools Rotakids cgarter certificate and all the School Council were given their Rotakids badges and wristbands in front of the whole school community over 400 young people.

    The Rotarians started with a meeting at 8.30am with the inspirational acting head teacher Mr Naveed Idrees. Feversham Primary Academy was in ‘special measures’ just a few years ago, and now with Mr Idrees in charge and great team alongside him, Ofsted have rated the School ‘September 2015 -Good in all areas’. At 9am prompt the assembly started and despite our warnings, we Rotarians were invited to sing a long! Not only did we sing, we judged the singing too – young people slightly better than the Teachers to be honest?

    It was great to see so many classes, individuals and teachers rewarded for their achievements; that’s right, the school even recognised the work of the some of the teachers.

    President Robert and Vic were asked to join Mr Idrees at the front of Assembly and address the School while Ken took the approved photographs. The School Council Representatives were represented with their membership badges and wrist bands and the whole school were welcomed into the worldwide Rotary family. We in Bradford West are really looking forward to developing the relationship with everyone at the school to ensure that every young person at Feversham Primary Academy have the commitment to being good citizens;

    “As a RotaKid,

    I endeavour to be fair to all

    to serve my community

    and to show respect for others”

    Everyone In the Rotary Club of Bradford West owe a big thank you to Vic Cornwell, Graeme Parker and Ken Thompson for working with such an enthusiastic School. Welcome to Rotary Feversham Primary Academy.
