  • Music for Manorlands Concert

I am still glowing with excitement after the wonderful evening at the Music for Manorlands concert last night!

I am truly grateful for all the support from everyone.

Thornton singers not only gave a superb concert with Jake Jones (15 year old trombone soloist) and Sue Patterson (Soprano soloist),

but also were there to help us set up in the afternoon, help on the door and generally make the whole evening a success.

Bradford West Rotary Club was very well represented.

Manorlands support group committee and helpers were a fantastic team on the night.

David Mawson was amazing, conducting the choir AND coping with all my requests to announce Lucky Programme numbers, cakes for sale at the end, etc., etc!

The hall was packed with an enthusiastic audience.

Jackie Wardman, discharge co-ordinator, and Catherine McDonald, health care support worker, were there on behalf of Manorlands and Jackie gave a most heart-felt vote of thanks.

So many people contributed home-made baking for the interval that we had plenty to sell at the end.

All this, along with our very generous sponsors of adverts and prizes, made the evening our best fund-raising event for Manorlands Hospice so far - £2,300 plus whatever is in the heavy collecting bucket after the cake sale!!!

    Thank you all!
