  • Southfield School Sports Day

What a great day it was with what seemed like hundreds of children with varying degrees of special needs, dressed in brightly coloured sports attire reflecting vividly in a bright and sunny day. The air was full of laughter, joy, music and a distinct smell of sun tan cream!

In the morning 8 Rotarians and two wives were soon lost in amongst the various sporting events; pushing wheel chairs around obstacles, helping to throw wet sponges at teachers, score goals, hit wickets and much much more. I have to say that ‘getting involved’ with something so simple and that gives so much joy is real genuine pleasure to everyone involved.

I am really grateful to Tony and the Community team for once again for getting and keeping the club involved in what must be a ‘core value’ in our club. We must thank all of the staff at Southfield Grange for the tremendous work they do every single day and for the support they give to all the young people and their parents.

Pictures of the event will appear on facebook shortly.
